I once had a violin business that I built to millions in sales, all in the violin niche. But I lost the entire company in my divorce.

I learned that I hit rock bottom by not following God closely enough.

Struggling with significant depression and filing for bankruptcy, I searched for answers.

Listening to Rick Warren's sermons, I realized the importance of relationships and helping others rather than just focusing on myself.

It's been my mission to help people find Jesus since. Losing my home, going through bankruptcy, and experiencing a divorce were the catalysts that led me to Jesus.

Experiencing the transformative power of His love and grace, I discovered that the "American dream" had nothing to offer compared to indescribable peace and hope in a relationship with Christ.

My name is Maya, and I'm from South Florida.

I always felt like I had 'second-hand faith' until I truly found Jesus.

And guess where I found the love of my life?

Not where I expected!

After coming to Michigan to find work, I found Michael.

Michael is a Cuban, and most Cubans are in Florida, so it was quite a joke that I had to come to Michigan to find my Cuban.

But God works in mysterious ways and has a plan greater than ours.

My husband and I are both Islanders.

We have two cats and now have a newborn child named Lydia!

Our journey began with two hearts in search of a special connection.

We created online dating profiles with hope in our hearts, praying to find one person to compliment us perfectly.

As we clicked through each other's pictures, we never expected to connect so deeply. It was only when we met that we knew this was it.

We quickly discovered the things that bound us together- our unwavering faith, mutual desire to live meaningfully, shared island roots, a warm Florida upbringing, and shared values.

Our journey toward love, unity, and purpose continues to unfold, guided by the loving touch of the Holy Spirit.
